The FUDGE

Mackinac Island is famous for its slab fudge. It definitely lived up to the hype and I find myself craving it often. In every shop you can watch the fudge making process. The ingredients are boiled in a large pot then poured onto the first table. When it's cooled down, it's formed into a long row of fudgy goodness then sliced for customers. If you're there for the last part and have enough gall to ask, they'll give you the hot scraps- yum! We sampled at several stores and our favorite combo was always peanut butter and chocolate.
